Lynda is a director whose character driven films explore the darker parts of the human condition but with humour. Her short films, both drama and comedy, have won over 50 awards internationally and her first, Ready To Go was Oscar qualified in 2019. Lynda is a fellow of the Sony Pictures Diverse Directors Program, The WIF mentorship program, The Black Magic Collective Filmmaker Advancement Initiative, and a member of BAFTA.

With over 25 years experience in the Art Department she has collaborated with some of the best directors, showrunners and actors working today, on projects such as Winning Time, True Detective, Stranger Things, and Oscar winning American Beauty.

Born in New York and raised in the UK, she has travelled the world, been a nanny for the super-rich, a Prop House owner, and a single mom. Irrepressible and hilarious, she is who you want to be working alongside when you are shooting in some grotty alley at three in the morning, getting the work done, making the day and finding the humor in tough times.

‘The complexities of the worlds we create are largely the result of Lynda’s talents and her inherent, poetic understanding of story.’
Nic Pizzolatto - Creator - True Detective

‘She has an innate ability for storytelling’
Lynda Obst - Producer

Aida Rodgers - EP - Barry, Perry Mason, True Detective
